Insider Tips for Travelling to France

30 Aug Insider Tips for Travelling to France

The city of lights, the city of sidewalk cafes, the city of fashion – Paris is without a doubt one of the most fascinating cities in the world. Whether your trip includes a visit to the Eiffel Tower, an endless amount of macaroons and baguettes, or seeing an opera, you won’t be disappointed with all that France has to offer. As always, there are a few tips to keep in mind when traveling to a foreign country, and Paris comes with its own set of guidelines so check out this insider tips for traveling to France.

#1 Paris Fashion

The residents of this fashion capital are surprisingly simple in their choice of clothing. If you don’t want to stand out as a tourist, think: versatile but chic. Items in neutral colors that can be worn many different ways are a must. Show your personality with scarves that go with everything. Perhaps the most important tip for any sort of travel – pack comfortable shoes! Paris is a city for walking, and you will be doing a lot of it.

#2 Public transport? Oyster Card? Debit Card? Boris Bike?

Learning French is another great travel tip. A few key words and phrases will make your trip go by much more smoothly. You’ll also be able to make new friends with the locals. Parisians appreciate it when foreigners attempt to order or ask for help in their native language. Give it your best effort and learn to speak the language of love!

#3 French Food

Be sure to take advantage of the spectacular food and wine in France. Montmartre has some of the oldest and most eclectic restaurants – not to mention the amazing view of the Eiffel Tower when atop the hill in front of the Sacre Coeur church. Plus, who doesn’t love all of the patisseries on every corner! Tarte aux framboises, anyone?
